Hey CM Friends and My Retreat Girls - old & new!!

Just a small note that we are headed back to Roanoke for another wonderful weekend of scrapbooking. October 23-24-25 from Noon Friday til 3 pm Sunday with SIX catered meals. (The food was unbelievable - good & plentiful!) Cost is $197.75 = that is the retreat's fee and nothing extra added in. I go there just as you do to spend time on my albums - of course, I'll help you - but I'm not going to charge you for that!

There are just a handful of spots left - so call me soon to RSVP and drop your deposit off. And just for "us," for my group as we'll go back at least 3x/year - the Cottage has offered us a Loyalty Plan in which when we stay four times - we can get the fifth stay for half price!

12x12 Retired Items Delay

No panic my friends! When I say "lots of you" ordered lots of 12x12 retiring products on August 31st.... so did everyone else. CM even offered to take final orders on September 1st because it was crazy on that final day - slow servers and customers afraid they weren't going to get the items they needed.

I made verbal confirmation on my orders and those of you that ordered and had it shipped directly to your homes. All info is there and your orders are being processed - You will note that your credit cards are not charged until the items ship. At this time, CM told me they hope to make/fill/send out all these orders by the end of September.

Most of you don't *need* the 12x12 retired items immediately, but if you do - call me and I will get you some from my inventory. Any other questions - I'm always here for you.

Hi Friends,

In less than two weeks, the original, *old* 12x12 and 7x7 albums and scrapbook pages will officially retire. If you don't order these products before Monday, August 31st - I cannot guarentee that you will be able to get them after that date. Count your pages and album needs - do not put this off til tomorrow... tomorrow is here!

On a different note, the Scrapbook retreat to Roanoke was wonderful!! I will get photos off my camera and post them on here after I confirm dates with the Retreat owners. Look for an email asking you the "best" month as I poll those of you who have attended in the past - or want to attend in the future.

WoW! Summer sure is flying. It has been a busy, but fun summer at the Mohr House. I am looking forward to getting back to this Blog and keeping you up-to-date on Creative Memories happenings. This includes product releases, sales, scrapbooking opportunities and more information & ideas on digital albums and the CM software.

But first, CM has a Sticker Sale starting tomorrow & running for the next two weeks (Aug 3-17). There are twenty-five different stickers (retail $2.50) which are being sold at $1 each!!

Next, I've been trying to get you ready for August 31st - and now it is just around the corner. Please take this time to check your "old" 12x12 or 7x7 albums (this does not include the *new* 12x12 True or 8x8 items) to see what you need to finish that album. Perhaps you need a couple more refill pages or you forgot page protectors.... start looking, counting your needs and order soon! "Old" 12x12 & 7x7 items will retire at the end of August. I'm making my personal list for our family albums and don't want you to miss out.

Finally, I've said it all week - but this is the LAST CALL for anyone else joining us on the Retreat. Fees have been sent in and meals are being arranged. Still room for friends to join us - just call me as soon as you read this. Father's Day Kids Mini-Camp/Crop

My next Kids Crop for them/you. On Sunday, June 7th from 1 pm -4pm, the Kids will have a crop of their own... a mini-version of my Summer Camps with a brief scrapbook lesson*. The Kids will use my tools to make a 12-page paper album gift for Dad... pictures of Dad, your child(ren) and their thoughts journaled into these keepsakes.Cost: $40 - includes album & supplies along with crop fee. RSVP/fees required to hold seat. Max attendance 10 Kids. Please bring snack for your child and let me know of any allergies or important medical information. This is a Kids Crop, but parents are welcomed. --Danielle

Speaking of shopping for Mother's Day, this year I am offering a Kids Crop for them/you. What's "NEW?" NEW is the acronym of the Network of Enterprising Women's group in which I am involved in locally and they are having a Spring Vendor Show next Thursday, April 30th. Unfortunately, I won't be there in person due to other committments. (I'm VP of Fundraising for our Preschool and we have a huge Picnic & Silent Auction on Saturday so I'm sure I'll be running around town with last minute.)

T-5 days til the Angel Twin Memorial 5K Run/Walk in Frisco on Saturday, March 28th in memory of Corynne & Cathryn Bouchard who lost their little lives to Niemann-Pick Disease Type C before

their second birthdays in May & July 2008.

I had a goal to raise $500 for the Angel Twin by running/walking ;o) in the 5K this weekend. I am only half-way to that goal... so in order to raise more funds for research & awareness to this fatal disease, I will be donating my Creative Memories profits for the first half of April '09.

Mark your calendar & spread the word - I am donating ALL profits from my sales (products or digital StoryBooks) purchased between April 1 - April 15th. Questions - just let me know. March Crop: Friday the 20th

I wanted to give you a heads up that I've moved the March No Frills Friday Crop up one week. Our new date is March 20th @ 7 pm.

As many of you know I am involved in the planning committee for the Angel Twin 5K Race in memory of Cathryn & Corynne Bouchard, which takes place on Saturday, March 28th. To be fair to the Race (& any last minute things we might need to do) and you (I don't want to cancel at the last minute), let's just make sure we get to crop by coming a week early.

I hope to see you there - don't forget to RSVP & send $10 fee to save your seat. And as promised, $5 of the fee from each participant will be donated to the Million Dollar Mission... so as you preserve your memories, you are "donating" to the Angel Twins so that the girls' memory lives on. IF you have "old" 12x12 or 7x7 albums that are in complete, NOW is the time to plan to complete them - or at least get the supplies you need before the albums, refills, & protectors expire.

Due to Creative Memories’ transition to "true" 12x12 albums and 8x8 albums, these original refills and page protectors will NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE come September 2009. NOW is the time to fill the albums you have purchased or are working on. Each album is recommended to hold maximum 45 sheets or 90 pages (3 pks per book). Refill packages ($17 per pack) come in packs of 15 sheets/30 pages, choice of white, spargo, natural and black pages. Page Protectors comes with 15 sheets, $8 per pack. Plan ahead so you won’t be disappointed when it’s no longer available.

February Special: Order $50 or more (from any of our products except Photo Center) by February 26, get free shipping and delivery. Save at least $7 or more !! Order $100 or more and get a free Friday night crop or a free Power Layout workshop, in which you learn a method to complete your albums quickly. Call me for dates or personal appointments. Angel Twins: Million Dollar Mission

As I get started with this Blog, I wanted to take the time to post something close to my heart. Creative Memories mission statement is "Preserving the Past, Enriching the Present, and Inspiring Hope for the Future" and that is why I want to take this spotlight for friends close to my heart.

If you're local, you may know the story of the Angel Twins & if you are not, keep reading - here is a brief summary of their story & for more, check out http://www.angeltwins.org/

Their names are Cathryn and Corynne Bouchard and they were diagnosed with a rare and deadly disease called Niemann-Pick Disease Type C (NPC) shortly after their 1st birthday. This disease took Corynne's life just before she would have been 20 months old, and Cathryn's life at 22 months old. I hope you will take a moment to read about this disease and how you can help stop this from happening to many other children like my friends who have received this devastating diagnosis.

NPC is a disorder affecting lipid metabolism (the breakdown and use of fats and cholesterol in the body), in a way which causes harmful amounts of lipids to accumulate in the spleen, liver, lungs, bone marrow, and brain. These substances are building up in our bodies every day. As the substances build up in our brains, they cause neurological problems that worsen with time. The disease has been likened to a "Childhood Alzheimer's" - robbing children of their minds and their lives. For Corynne and Cathryn, the storage of these substances in the lungs was the primary problem.

Currently there is no cure for NPC, and there is no standard treatment that has proven to be effective. This disease is always fatal. It is difficult to predict life expectancy for a person with NPC. In general, the earlier that a patient has neurological problems indicates that the patient will get worse more quickly.

There should never be no hope for children. That's why we hope that you will join our family in our Million Dollar Mission to support research for treatments and a cure for NPC.

I know this is probably not the first post you expected, but with the mission statement of "Preserving the Past, Enriching the Present, and Inspiring Hope for the Future," I felt it was appropriate. The Million Dollar Mission is possible! Of course, "large donations" are accepted and welcomed, but I believe it is the $10-20 donations from many people that will help us meet this goal.

Happy New Year!

For so long my customers have encouraged me to have a Blog & I've shyed away... until this year. Another year and while we are all making resolutions, I want to resolve to help you get more of your albums completed. This Blog will be my attempt to keep you up to date on scrapbook products, ideas and gifts solutions - made by you or with a little help from me. ;o)
